This video gives a ranking of US English phoneme popularity as appearing in media print (e.g., books, news, mags etc. ). It includes often repeated words, and is akin to speech phoneme frequency (if we speak according to dictionary pronunciation guides). The video also shows the top six ways each of the 40 phonemes is spelled. Results find that 85% of truespel phoneme spellings are taken from the most popular phonic spelling in print.
